For those who may not know you yet: who is Esther Sanders, and how did your love for fashion first begin?
I’m Esther Sanders, founder of Studio S, and fashion has always been a big part of my life. My mom used to make clothes for my sister and me, and my dad has always had a strong interest in fashion as well. That’s where it started. Over time, that interest grew into something more serious, especially once I started working in the industry.

Behind Studio S is a clear vision, shaped by years in fashion and a strong sense of personal style. We recently sat down with Esther to talk about her journey, what drives her, and how Studio S came to life.

Before opening Studio S, you spent several years in the fashion industry. How did that experience shape you?
I worked at a fashion agency, where I became a label manager for a Danish brand. I was constantly visiting stores and working closely with buyers, which gave me a strong understanding of what works. Seeing so many different stores also made me realize what I felt was missing, and that’s what led me to start thinking about creating something of my own.

Do you remember the moment you decided to open Studio S?
It wasn’t one specific moment, but a feeling that kept growing. I wanted to create a place that truly reflects my own taste and vision. At some point, that feeling became stronger than the fear. I also knew that if I didn’t try, I would always wonder “what if”.

How would you describe your personal style?
Minimal and clean, with a focus on strong basics and quality pieces. I like outfits that feel effortless but still have something interesting. That’s very much reflected in the store.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to follow their passion?
It’s normal to feel hesitant, it means you care. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. You learn along the way. Not taking the step is often scarier than just going for it.
