PACKBAGS: A Bag That Grows With You

 At Studio S, we're always drawn to brands that challenge the idea of disposable fashion. Brands that think carefully about how products are made, used and valued over time. PACKBAGS is one of those brands.

Designed and produced in Amsterdam, PACKBAGS approaches bags differently. Rather than creating a finished product that eventually needs replacing, the brand has developed a modular system built around repair, adaptation and longevity. 

Each bag consists of interchangeable components, from ropes and straps to pouches, clips and accessories. As your needs change, individual parts can be repaired, replaced or updated without having to buy an entirely new bag. The result is a bag that evolves alongside its owner.

What we appreciate most about PACKBAGS is the way functionality and creativity come together. A bag is often seen as a simple accessory, but for many people it is one of the most used objects in daily life. It carries the tools of a profession, the essentials for a day in the city, or the belongings that accompany us on travels and adventures.

The team behind PACKBAGS describes their bags as tools for creative practice. Whether you're a photographer carrying a camera, a designer carrying sketchbooks, or simply someone moving through the city, the bag becomes part of your daily rhythm.

This philosophy is reflected in the way the bags are made. All production takes place in the PACKBAGS studio in Amsterdam, allowing the brand to work in small batches, experiment with new ideas and offer repairs when needed. By staying close to production, they maintain a direct connection between design, craftsmanship and customer.

Sustainability is an important part of that process. Materials are sourced from suppliers across Europe, including The Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Poland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Around 80% of the materials contain more than 50% recycled content.

For us, PACKBAGS represents a thoughtful approach to design. One that values flexibility, craftsmanship and long-term use over constant replacement.

From July 2 until July 5, Studio S will feature an extended selection of PACKBAGS Crossbody Bags Medium, alongside a wide range of ropes, clips and accessories. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the modular system and create combinations that suit their own style and daily needs.
